Review Scoring

I’ve tried to keep the review system fairly simple. I think that a numeric score can sometimes be unfair and an inaccurate representation of a game. What really constitutes a 10/10? Also, with budgetgamer doing mostly older games, what does a high score really mean in the context of today ?

We’ve decided to keep a star rating, but please bear in mind that 5 stars is by no means a perfect game, just an exceptional one.

The Rating System

5 Stars – Excellent, even by today’s standards.
4 Stars – Very Good, excellent for it’s time.
3 Stars – Good
2 Stars – Mediocre
1 Star – Bad.
